LGBTQIA+ Families

Children Trust Michigan knows that every family looks different, and ALL families need access to resources. There are various in person locations as well as expanding web-based resources that are available for LGBTQIA+ families and individuals. These locations and resources are compiled HERE. Children’s Rights and the Human Rights Campaign has published a fact sheet about  LGBTQ+ Youth in Foster Care. The Trevor Project is another great resource for families and individuals who have been or care about LGBTQIA+ youth who were in the foster care system. Youth.gov has more resources than mentioned above, such as resources for LGBTQIA+ youth in the child welfare system.
