Kinship
The Kinship Care Resource Center helps families where kids are being raised by relatives or close family friends. They get money from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and work with groups that get money from Children Trust Michigan (CTM).
Michigan families can see GrandFact sheets made by grandfamilies.org. CTM and MDHHS know that kinship caregivers do a great job caring for kids. They help these kids feel safe and connected to their family, culture, and community.
Kinship care is when family members like grandparents, aunts, uncles, older brothers or sisters, close friends, or people from their tribe or clan take care of kids full-time. Many of these families don't know where to find help. CTM wants to help kinship families by listening to them and connecting them to the help they need.
