Fathers
In the last ten years, we have learned how important fathers are. Dads always knew they mattered. Now, studies show it too, just like they have for moms. When a mom is having a baby, the dad's body and feelings change too. This happens when he is there for his partner and the new baby.
Here are three websites that show how important dads are and have many helpful ideas: Zero to Three, National Fatherhood Initiative, and National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse.
Kids with involved fathers are often more sure of themselves. They do better in school and can control their feelings better than kids who don't have a father figure. Some kids don't live with their fathers or father figures. But these important people still help a child's life. Youth.gov, National Fatherhood Initiative, and National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse have many ideas for fathers who don’t live with their kids or are in prison.
All of these websites also have information for families that are blended, have step-fathers, or other father figures. They also have help for dads who are raising kids with the moms but don't live together. You can find interesting facts about dads in the U.S. at the Paw Research Center HERE.
